Well, I had to laud on Lord of the Rings since it IS my favorite of all books and movies. Arwen is one of my favorite characters and when we saw this stand up at Junkman's daughter in Athens we had to get it. We considered Gollum but thought it too creepy for a library media center (imagine Gollum eyeing you while you're trying to study). J.R.R. Tolkien's poem, "All That Glitters is Not Gold", from the Fellowship of the Rings is supposed to be the suggested thought in Arwen's head and it goes as follows:
- All that is gold does not glitter,
- Not all those who wander are lost;
- The old that is strong does not wither,
- Deep roots are not reached by the frost.
- From the ashes a fire shall be woken,
- A light from the shadows shall spring;
- Renewed shall be blade that was broken,
- The crownless again shall be king.
